ibv were approached by the director of a mailing house to sell the business that had been trading for over 25 years. The initial approach took place some three years before an eventual sale was achieved. The director wanted to understand his options and what kind of deal structure and price could be achieved, and a line of communication was always open to discuss matters.
The director then formally instructed us to handle the sale of the business, and having significant experience in the sector a buyer was quickly found. The deal consisted of an up-front payment together with a 12 month earn out, and the business was transferred to the purchaser’s premises to maximise synergies.
